Biography
Born in 1990, graduate from the Chinese Academy of Art, Hu Weiyi, multimedia artist, lives and works in Shanghai. His work combines photography, video, installation, sculpture, action and, with an influence of social ethnography, theatre and film.
The works of Hu Weiyi, currently in residence in Scotland, have been the subject of major exhibitions, solo and group in China and abroad. They include: « We-A Community of Chinese Contemporary Artists », Chi K11 Art Space, Shanghai (2016) ; « New voices : a dslcollection story », Klein Sun Gallery, New York (2016) ; « Hu Weiyi », Asia Art Center, Taiwan(2015) ; « No Express », Ullens Center for Contemporary Art, Beijing(2015) ; « Reformation », White Rabbit, Chippendale(2014); Summer Session V2_, Rotterdam(2013) ; « The Bad Land », intervention in the public space by young artists in which Hu Weiyi is a curating artist, Shanghai (2012).
胡为一，1990年出生于上海，现生活工作于上海。2013年从中国美术学院毕业后，继续留在跨媒体艺术学院攻读硕士。 日前正在苏格兰做艺术家驻留，胡为一的作品已经在中国及海外参与过众多有影响的个展和群展，其中包括：“我们／一个关于中国当代艺术家的力量”，chi K11美术馆，上海（2016）；“新声音：一段dslcollection的冒险”，凯尚画廊，纽约（2016）；“胡为一”同名个展，台北亚洲艺术中心台北二馆（2015）；“ Reformation”, 白兔美术馆，澳大利亚；“两点之间没有直线”，北京尤伦斯当代艺术中心悦廊（2015）；艺术驻留，V2媒体艺术机构，鹿特丹（2013）；“不毛之地”，胡为一策展兼艺术家，上海（2012）。
